Flat Stanley takes a last look at my yard

Stanley doesn't understand why some plants I rip out of the ground early in the morning, and others I jealously guard. One guy who came to work on my yard called it "Rice and Mangos," meaning it doesn't go together. Like I shouldn't have a Sea Grape planted with a Hibsicus with a Palm Tree. I don't care--I like it.

The Frangipane is starting to bloom, and the big green tree was nothing but a stick about 6 months ago. Stanley is amazed how fast stuff grows here.

Lunch

Went out for lunch with Stanley and another friend and we took a few shots while we were out. Actual lunch was at Panera Bread. Stanley was thinking it has been months since either one of us has had a Krispy Kreme donut, but I told him to get behind me and not tempt me.

Stanley encourages me

I can't do this stuff on the guitar yet, but Stanley

spoke words of encouragement to me.

Last time Stanley visits my job

And lastly, Stanley gets another lesson in infection control, visits the tub room (which was not at all what he had in mind when he heard there was a tub room), checks out more machines, and wonders how come there is not a decent place to eat within 5 miles of this place. No wonder everyone eats protein bars!

Stanley considers getting a Tattoo

Stanley seems to be having a discussion with the dragon tattoo. Wonder what tattoo Stanley would get if he could roll up his sleeves?

Stanley comes to work with me again

Stanley came to work with me again. He got to see hazardous waste, a continous dialysis machine, a bunch of signs, and one of my coworker's memorabilia from her trip to Las Vegas.

Stanley comes to work on Tuesday

Stanley came to work with me Tuesday. Like most first-timers, he is a bit overwhelmed and just wanted to look at stuff he has never seen before rather than talking to the people.

texting

Stanley came to work with me and learned why it's important not to

text and drive at the same time. Fortunately, Stanley has no fingers so it's very difficult for him to text.

Stanley visits a bookstore

Stanley and I visited the bookstore Sunday afternoon. Bookstores in Florida are not the same as other bookstores elsewhere in the world. A full bilingual children's section, and a full section on Florida, just for children. And where else in the world can you get a journal made from recycled owls??

Stanley visits a Mexican restaurant

Chipolte's is a fast-food mexican place (chain) not far from my house, and I asked one of the aging hippies that hang out there to hold Stanley up to one of the art pieces there. I'm sure he thought I was flat-out nuts.

Stanley goes to church

First Stanley checked out the podium. Then Stanley went and worked in the nursery with me and Kristy. He enjoyed storytim

e and painting pictures of Moses parting the Red Sea.

Friday Night Bible study

Pictures are fuzzy at best, but a good time was had by all. Flat Stanley absorbed everything, and yet he still stayed flat--amazing!

Stanley get to do something very few people have ever done here

This was a very rare photo op, so we had to take it. The beach at 8am is emptier than an hour or two later in the day. It's been years since I have even seen an empty bench facing the beach!!

8am, the beach

STANLEYZILLA!!

at the beach in the morning

We got to the beach, just south of Sheridan Street in Hollywood, around 7:40am.
